BROOKFIELD – The Brookfield Elks resume their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League playoff series tonight when they host the Sackville Blazers for Game 4 of their Fred Fox Division final series.

Brookfield leads the best-of-seven affair 2-1. Puck drop at Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex is 7:30 p.m.

The Elks enter the contest after a big come-from-behind 5-3 victory over the Balzers in Game 3 of their series on Monday in Sackville. Brookfield trailed the contest 3-1 entering the third period, before scoring four unsnaswered goals to seal the victory.

The visiting team has won all three games in the series so far.

In the Sid Rowe Division final series, Glace Bay visits the Strait Pirates for Game 3 on Friday in Port Hawkesbury. The series is tied at a game apiece.

The Elks were shut out of the league awards when they were announced on Tuesday, as the Glace Bay Miners and Pictou County Scotians combined to win every award.

Brandon Verge of the Scotians was league MVP. Verge was the top scorer in the regular season with 36 goals and 62 points in 32 games.

Other award winners were Brett Simmons, Glace Bay (best defenceman), Jake McKendry, Glace Bay (top goalie), Brad MacEachern, Pictou County (top rookie), Lucas Eshelman, Pictou County (most gentleman), Kent Verbeski, Glace Bay (coach of the year) and Glace Bay Miners (executive of the year).
