SUMMERSIDE – Truro’s Colleen Pinkney remains undefeated at the Canadian senior women’s curling championship.
Pinkney rolled to her seventh straight victory today – a 7-1 thrashing of Newfoundland’s Laura Phillips – and is the lone unbeaten rink at the 12-team event.
Pinkney meets Saskatchewan’s Cathy Inglis (3-3) tonight at 8 p.m.
The Truro foursome, which includes mate Wendy Currie, second Shelley MacNutt and lead Susan Creelman, took control of its game early against Phillipsat Silver Fox Curling Club.
Pinkney scored two in the second end, stole a deuce in the third and counted singles in the fourth and fifth for a comfortable 6-0 lead at the break. Phillips settled for a single in the sixth, while Pinkney added one in the seventh before the teams shook hands.
Pinkney won the national title in 2009.
