Soft Touch Car Wash wins LWCCHL crown

DEBERT – Soft Touch Car Wash nipped Gutter Done Thunder 4-3 in overtime Tuesday to capture the Labatt West Colchester Commercial Hockey League title.

Soft Touch won the best-of-five series in four games.

Matt McClellan was the OT hero, as he scored six minutes into the extra frame. Nick Pettipas, with two, and Brian Roode also scored for the Soft Touch and Louie Smith had three assists.

Brad Richey forced overtime for Gutter Done in dramatic fashion by scoring the game-tying goal with 25 seconds left in the final period while playing shorthanded. Josh Kennedy and Jason Blois had other markers for the Thunder, while Darren Peterson and Chris MacKenzie each had a pair of assists.

Landon Crowe earned the win between the pipes.
