NEW GLASGOW – The Truro Bearcats are in a big hole in their Maritime Junior Hockey League playoff series against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers.

The Bearcats lost 4-3 Tuesday night and trail the best-of-seven EastLink Division final series 2-0. Game 3 is Thursday in Truro at 7 p.m. at the Community Credit Union Arena at the Rath EastLink Community Centre.

The Crushers held period leads of 2-1 and 4-2 Tuesday in front of a crowd of 1,308 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

Jordan Coccimigilio scored all three Truro goals, two coming on power plays. Kyle Morrison and Zach Evans-Renaud each added two assists. Jordan MacInnis, Nick Parker, on the power play, Mitchell Deruelle and Tyler Doyle scored for Pictou County.

Bearcats goaltender Shayne Campbell made 14 saves, while Brandon Thibeau faced 24 shots to pick up the win.
