Jr. B Elks win Game 1 over Blazers in division final series

SACKVILLE – Connor Baker’s third-period goal snapped a 2-2 tie and the Brookfield Elks edged the Sackville Blazers 3-2 Monday in Game 1 of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Fred Fox Division final.

Devon Muir, on a power play, and Shane Piercy scored other goals for the Elks, while Adam Brown and Shane Boudreau, shorthanded, replied for the Blazers.

Elks goalie Spencer Scott made 48 saves for the win.

Game 2 is Thursday at the Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex in Brookfield, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
