#23 Jordan Coccimiglio
Burlington, ON
6’1, 195lbs.
19, Forward
Jordan Coccimiglio is this week’s Bearcat-of-the-Week.
The forward scored two big goals in Sunday’s 5-4 win over Yarmouth, took key faceoffs and was excellent on the penalty-kill in all games last week. His hockey smarts are obvious each shift.
Coccimiglio got his start in the Burlington Eagles minor hockey program. He worked his way through the ranks to the minor midget level and drew the attention of OHL teams.
The Erie Otters drafted him in 2009 and he suited up with them for 67 games in the 2009-10 season and another 31 games the next season before a trade to the Barrie Colts. Last year, he picked up 12 goals and 21 assists as a member of the Oakville Blades (OJHL).
At each stop he was described as a solid two-way player capable of capitalizing on opportunities. In recent weeks he skated alongside Travis Fernley and Kyle Morrison. Since his return to the Bearcats lineup in January, he’s filled a void and lifted the fortunes of the club. He’s another one of those players who is simply a good fit.
