Pye Chev Bearcats earn berth at pewee AAA provincial tourney

TRURO – The Truro Pye Chevrolet Bearcats recently punched their ticket to peewee AAA hockey provincials at the Bell Aliant Mainland Hockey League championship.

The Bearcats defeated the Pictou County Crushers 3-2 in overtime to claim one of two spots up for grabs. The Acadia Axemen also advanced to this weekend’s tournament in Sackville.

Truro finished the round-robin at the league tournament with an 8-2 thrashing of the South Shore Ice Sharks after blanking the Crushers 2-0 and Western Valley 3-0. The Bearcats opened with a 3-2 loss to the Antigonish Bulldogs.
