Cougars nipped by Cheetahs at hoops provincials

TRURO – The Cobequid Cougars are playing for seventh place today at the NSSAF Division 1 girls basketball championship at CEC Gym.

The No. 4 ranked Cougars suffered a 69-64 setback to the C.P. Allen Cheetahs, ranked seventh, in Friday action, dropping their record to 0-2. Cobequid meets the No. 6 Riverview Royals at 9 a.m.

The final is slated for 3 p.m.

Brooke Densmore led the Cougars with 23 points Friday while Brittany MacKay netted 13. Samantha Strickland drained eight.
