Rams hoops squads come up short to end dismal seasons

BIBLE HILL – The Dalhousie Rams finished the ACAA men’s basketball season Sunday without a win.

The Rams fell 111-64 to the Holland Hurricanes Sunday after an 88-59 setback to the Kings Blue Devils to finish last among eight teams in their conference at 0-21.

Only the top four teams qualify for the conference championships.

The women wrapped their campaign with a heartbreaking 65-64 loss to  the Hurricanes following a 77-33 beating from Kings. They also finished eighth with one win in 21 games.

Ian Camp had a game-high 21 points Sunday for the Rams men while Tyler MacDonald netted 16 and Joe Gushue had 14. The Rams trailed 31-7 after the opening quarter.

MacDonald poured in 17 points Saturday while Gushue had 16. Thomas Watson recorded 29 points for Kings.

On the women’s side, Emily Davis claimed 19 points Sunday for the Rams while Lauran Marsh had 16. The Hurricanes nipped the Rams 13-12 in overtime after Dalhousie closed the gap with a 19-9 fourth quarter.

Marsh had a team-high 15 points for the Rams Saturday.
