Elks draw first blood in playoff series against Ducks

BROOKFIELD - The Brookfield Elks skated to a 4-1 victory over the Bay Ducks on Tuesday in Game 1 of Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Fred Fox Division semifinal series.

Connor Baker, Jordan Lauther, Geoff Burke and James Shapleigh, into an empty net, scored goals for the Elks and Nick Carroll had two assists. Chris Riguse had the lone marker for the Ducks.

Elks goaltender Spencer Scott made 30 saves.

Game 2 in the best-of-seven affair is Saturday at the St. Margaret's Centre in Tantallon, beginning at 7 p.m. Game 3 is next Tuesday in Brookfield at 7:30 p.m.

    yes elks win game 1 ,3more to go . Crowd was great possible best one this season . 50/50 was 300plus dollars . These players have bought into Hughies game plan and are skating like crazy . They are first to the puck and when the other guys touch puck they pay for it by getting hit . If you like good jr b hockey come out on Tuesday night and enjoy ,these guys are planning on winning if they play like they can it should be no problem
