TRURO - Kyle Morrison recorded three assists as the Truro Bearcats dumped the Metro Shipbuilders 7-0 in Maritime Junior Hockey League action on Saturday.
Morrison leads the league in scoring with 76 points (29 goals, 47 assists) entering the final two weeks of the regular season.
Jordan Coccimiglio, Dylan McGuigan, Travis Fernley, Patrick Downe, Alex Hazelhurst, Mitchell Robillard and Zach Evans-Renaud did the scoring for the 31-9-0-5 Bearcats, who trail the Eastlink Division-leading Yarmouth Mariners by four points.
Yarmouth defeated the third-place Amherst Ramblers on Saturday 3-2 in overtime.
The Bearcats outshot the last-place Shipbuilders (4-42-0-1) 46-22.
Shayne Campbell recorded his first shutout of the season.
Attendance was 483.
Truro hosts the Mirimichi Timberwolves (22-21-1-1) at Colchester Legion Stadium on Sunday at 7 p.m.
