BROOKFIELD – The Brookfield Elks are back on top of their division.

The Elks used an 8-2 shellacking of the East Hants Penguins Tuesday at Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex to leapfrog the Sackville Blazers in the Fred Fox Division table.

The Elks (19-10-1-2) lead the Blazers by a point. East Hants (11-17-3-0) is last in the six-team division.

Sackville had snatched first place from Brookfield with a 4-2 win over the Elks on Monday.

James Shapleigh, who leads the team with 30 points, scored a pair of goals Tuesday while Devin Muir, Zach Bates, Jordan Lauther, Drew McNutt, Nick Carroll and Geoff Burke also hit the net. Spencer Scot picked up his 18th victory of the season.
