Elks edge Blues to take division lead

BROOKFIELD - The Brookfield Elks defeated the Cumberland Blues 3-1 on Tuesday in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

With the win, the Elks (18-9-2-1) overtake the Sackville Blazers for first place in the Fred Fox Division by a single point.

Liam Carr and Geoff Burke each had a goal and an assist for the Elks in last night's victory, while Drew MacNutt added the insurance goal on a penalty shot in the third period.

Elks goaltender Spencer Scott made 43 saves, while Brookfield fired 39 shots at Blues netminder Jesse Cox.
