Lions flex muscle at Corvair Challenge track meet in Montreal

TRURO – The Truro Lions put on a strong performance for Team Atlantic on the weekend at the Corvair Challenge in Montreal.

The Lions dominated the throwing events with Sarah Millman (weight throw) and Sarah Colborne (shot put) posting victories.

Team Ontario won the meet, which also included track events, while Quebec also competed.

Millman made a 15.48m toss in the weight throw while Colborne was second at 14.90m.

Colborne’s personal best 13.65m throw was good enough to win the shot put.

Adam Kaulbach finished in the runner-up spot in the shot put with a 13.53m throw while Drew Erskine was third at 13.29m. Greg McCarthy was fourth at 12>47m.

Erskine was also third in the weight throw at 16.76m while Kaulbach was fourth at 15.05m. McCarthy’s 14.77m effort was fifth and Andrew Gibson made a 14.22m toss for sixth.

In the Corvair Open competition, Riley Jennings made a 12.06m throw to win while Andrew Gibson was second at 11.50m.
