Pinkney wins opening game at senior women’s curling championship

DIGBY – Truro’s Colleen Pinkney earned a 7-5 win over Jocelyn Nix of Glooscap on Wednesday at the Nova Scotia senior women’s curling championship.

The Pinkney foursome, which also includes third Wendy Currie, second Shelley MacNutt and lead Susan Creelman, scored three in the sixth end to snap a 3-3 tie, en route to victory.

Pinkney meets Mayflower’s Mary Mattatall (1-0) today at 2 p.m. and faces Mayflower’s Colleen Jones (0-1) tonight at 7:30 p.m.
