TRURO – The Truro Bearcats can reclaim top spot in the Maritime Junior Hockey League’s EastLink Division tonight with a victory in Amherst.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Amherst Stadium. The contest is a make-up from a tilt originally scheduled for Dec. 19.
The Bearcats (27-7-0-4) moved to within a point of the division-leading Yarmouth Mariners (29-8-1-0) Tuesday thanks to a 7-2 romp over the lowly Metro Shipbuilders (4-38-0-1) in Dartmouth.
Truro scored four goals in the first 10 minutes of the second period to break open a 2-1 game.
Truro held the division lead until mid-December when a rocky stretch allowed the Mariners to pass the Bearcats in the standings.
The Bearcats will have some added motivation to win tonight after falling 4-1 to the third-place Ramblers (24-9-3-2) Sunday in Truro.
