Public invited to send junior curlers to national championships

TRURO – Colchester County is invited to give a group of junior curlers a big send off to the national championships.

Truro Curling Club is hosting a send off party for its Mary Myketyn-Driscoll rink before it leaves for Fort McMurray for the Canadian junior curling championships Jan. 31 to Feb. 10.

The party is set for 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25.

The foursome, which also includes mate Taylor Clarke, second Mackenzie Proctor and lead Sara Sears, won the Nova Scotia junior title Jan. 1 with an 8-6 win over mayflowers Emily Dwyer in the final. They posted a 6-2 record at the event.
