Crescent Cab Bearcats win, tie in midget playdown action

TRURO - The Crescent Cab Midget A Bearcats earned a win and a tie in Fundy-Highland minor hockey playdown action during the weekend.

The Bearcats downed the Parrsboro Predators 3-1 and settled for a 4-4 tie against the Pictou County Crushers.

Darren Canton had a goal and an assist in the Truro win, while Ryan Chambers and Jerrett Pratt had other markers. Ethan Hume added two helpers and Coleman Porter had one. Keigan Thorpe got the win in nets.

In the tie, Canton scored twice, while Chambers and Hume added singles. Assists went to Quinten Gloade, with a pair, Porter, Pratt, Justin Zachariah and Quinn Fullerton. Nathan Hurlburt played nets.

The Bearcats, 2-1-1 in playdown action, play their final two games of the first round this weekend. They visit Brookfield on Friday and play the Truro Royal Lepage Bearcats on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the stadium.
