TRURO – Pictou County suffered a pair of losses on the weekend in the Nova Scotia major Midget Hockey League.
Pictou was doubled 4-2 by the Halifax Titans Sunday after falling 3-2 to Cole Harbour.
Pictou County (8-21-0-3) sits seventh in the eight-team league while Halifax (23-6-3-1) is third and Cole Harbour (10-18-3-2) is sixth.
Mark Vokey and Ryan Camp did the scoring for Pictou County against Halifax. Tanner Doiron made 21 saves while Truro’s Luke Melanson, who also saw time in the Pictou County net, stopped two.
Truro Bearcats junior A draft pick Jordan Yochoff collected three assists for Halifax, who got goals from Jack Patterson (2), John MacDonald and Luc Poirier.
Cole Livingstone and Cody Johnston scored against Cole Harbour and Melanson made 33 saves.
Valley’s Aaron Coleman, Lucas Holman of Bible Hill, Debert’s Mitchell LeBlanc, Tatamagouche’s Jarvis Mattatall and Truro’s Brady Meech, Michael Stuart and Lucas Rushton are also members of the team.
