WOLFVILLE – Truro’s Peter Burgess romped to a 7-1 victory over Mayflower’s Chris Sutherland this afternoon at the provincial men’s last-chance curling qualifier.

Burgess scored single points in the second, third, fifth and six ends and added three in the eighth before the teams shook hands.

Burgess, third Craig Burgess, second Jared Bent and lead Todd Burgess are chasing one of three remaining berths at the Tankard championship Feb. 5 to 10 at Truro Curling Club.

Burgess meets Mayflower’s Brent MacDougall (1-0) tonight at 9 p.m.

Five teams qualified last weekend during a qualifier in Amherst for a spot in the provincial championship. They were Mayflower’s Ian Juurlink, Paul Flemming, Chad Stevens, Shea Steele and Lakeshore’s Jamie Murphy.
