DEBERT – The West Colchester Countryfied Clothing Cobras claimed their third consecutive gold medal recently in the peewee B division of the Westville Miners Tournament in Westville.
The Cobras pounded the hosts 10-3 in the final after going 2-0-1 (W-L-T) in the rest of the event.
Drew Mumford led the Cobras by pumping in four goals in the final while Ethan Dawson, Brent Rushton, Daniel Ferdinand, Dylan MacDonald, Kobe Nicholas and Jonah Pridham also scored.
The Cobras closed the round-robin with a 3-1 win over the Pictou County Crushers. Zack Betts scored a pair of goals while Ferdinand potted the other. Ferdinand also provided an assist.
West Colchester also handed Trenton a 7-4 setback. Mumford recorded a hat trick with Dylan Tucker, Rushton, Ferdinand and Betts rounding out the scoring.
The Cobras opened the event with a 3-3 tie with Thorburn. Betts scored twice with the other marker coming from Rushton.
Luc Maloney and Aiden Perry shared the goaltending duties throughout the event.
