Wolves split, Cougars undefeated at boys basketball tournament

BROOKFIELD – The South Colchester Academy Wolves split games yesterday at the SCA Invitational high school boys basketball tournament.

The Wolves lost 81-63 to the Cobequid Cougars junior varsity team before a 68-50 victory over the North Colchester Mustangs.

Justin Redmond scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Cougars over the Wolves, while Alex Upham added 13 points. Terry Liu had 12 for the Wolves and Nathan Sylliboy had 10.

Liu was the high scorer against the Mustangs with a 26-point effort, while Alberto Serracin threw down 15. John Hunt poured in a game-high 30 points for NCHS, while Sean Jolly had 10.

The Cougars improved to 2-0 after a 79-47 triumph over the Amherst Vikings junior varsity team. Redmond led the way with 17 points and Ty Borden contributed 13.

The five-team round-robin tournament continues today. SCA plays Amherst at 11 a.m. and Carrefour from Dartmouth at 3 p.m. The Cougars and Mustangs tip off at 1 p.m.
