AMHERST – Brandon Pye scored the shootout winner to lift the Truro Bearcats to a 6-5 victory over the Amherst Ramblers in Maritime Junior Hockey League action on Wednesday.
Philip Fife, Travis Moore, Kyle Morrison, Travis Fernley and Daniel Perigo scored in regulation for the Bearcats.
Ben Berisha, with two, Cam McDonald Jeff MacPherson and Danny Harquail replied for the Ramblers.
Shayne Campbell made 42 saves for Truro, while Richard Tingley turned aside 30 shots for Amherst.
The Bearcats went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Ramblers were 2-for-3 with the man-power advantage.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday when they travel to Yarmouth to play the Mariners. Truro’s next home game is Jan. 19 when it hosts the Pictou County Weeks Crushers.
