Pictou County tripped by Mustangs in major midget play

TRURO – Pictou County was defeated 5-3 by the South Shore Mustangs on the weekend in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.

Pictou County (7-20-0-2) sits seventh in the eight-team league, just two points ahead of the Mustangs (5-21-2-2).

Lane Cormier notched both Pictou County tallies with Lucas Sangster and Darryl Wheadon recording assists.

Tanner Doiron made 22 saves in the Pictou County crease.

Zachary Miller, Alexander Rawding, Joel Cleveland, Alex Nauss and Mackenzie Woodman scored for South Shore, who got 28 saves from Cole Skinner.

Aaron Coleman, Lucas Holman, Mitchell LeBlanc, Jarvis Mattatall, Brady Meech, Luke Melanson, Lucas Rushton and Michael Stuart are all Colchester residents playing for Pictou County.
