Bearcats take pair of losses in major bantam hockey

TRURO – The Truro Bearcats suffered a pair of losses on the weekend in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League.

The Bearcats fell 2- to the Halifax Hawks Sunday after dropping an 8-1 contest to the Western Hurricanes Saturday

The Bearcats (2-19-2) are last in the 12-team league, while the Hurricanes (15-3-5) sit second, Halifax (16-4-2) lies fourth.

Ryan Bakker scored the lone Truro tally on Sunday with help from Brendan Starratt and Liam Giffin. Brandon Archibald stopped 26 shots.

Ben Higgins provided the Truro tally on Saturday with Jevan McNutt and Starratt picking up helpers. Jack Lynds made 30 saves.
