Bearcats lose to Slammers

TRURO - Daniel Perigo was the lone goal-scorer for the Truro Bearcats on Saturday as they played host to the Woodstock Slammers.

Woodstock scored one goal in each period to down the Bearcats, 3-1, in front of 601 hockey fans at the Colchester Legion Stadium.

Perigo's goal came on a powerplay with less than a minute remaining in the game.

Shane Campbell picked up the loss for Truro, stopping 16 of 19 shots.

The loss brings the Bearcats' standings to 21-5-0-3 and they sit in second place in the Eastlink Division.

Their next game is today when they travel to Summerside to play the Western Capitals at 2 p.m.
