BROOKFIELD - The Brookfield Elks fell 4-3 in overtime Tuesday to the Eastern Shore Mariners, their second overtime loss by the same score in as many nights.

Former Truro Bearcats junior A member Jordan Cox buried the winner past former Bearcats teammate Spencer Scott at 1:31 of the extra frame.

The single point lifts the Elks (5-6-1-0) into a tie with the Bay Ducks (6-8-0-0) for fifth in the six-team Fred Fox Division. Eastern Shore (9-4-0-0) sits in a tie with the Valley Maple Leafs (7-1-2-2) for second.

Brookfield also dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Sackville Blazers (10-4-1-0) Monday.

James Shapleigh scored his second goal of the game for Brookfield with less than two minutes remaining to send the game to extra time. Nick Carroll also scored for the Elks.

Scott was tagged with the loss with 41 saves.

Kyle Morash, Tyler Somers and Tim Mannette did the regulation scoring for the Mariners, who also got a pair of assists from Cox. Joe Hines made 40 stops.
