The Cougars defeated Riverview, 2-1, to earn the medal in the Nova Scotia Athletic Federation Division 1 boys soccer provincials.
Goals came from Ben Gorringe and Dan Vanderpoel early in the second half to put the Cougars in the lead. Tim Trites was in goal.
Head coach Hans Budgey said the players did what they were asked to do.
"They came out and played hard and executed well," he said, shortly following the win. "Riverview scored with about 15 minutes left in the game and put a lot of pressure on us but the boys absorbed the attack well and our defence didn't lack.
"They played with a lot of heart and determination."
While he said the team had hoped to play for the gold medal, they were a very happy group when the final whistle blew.
"We're ready to work toward (the gold) next year," he said.
