TRURO - Truro Bearcats rookie forward Brandon Pye has been selected to play in the Canadian Junior Hockey League prospects game in Yarmouth and Digby next week.

Pye, 18, is tied for 10th in Maritime Junior Hockey League scoring with seven goals and 18 points in just 12 games.

The five-foot-10, 186-pound centre from St. John's, N.L. will play in the prospects game on Nov. 10 at the Digby Arena (7 p.m.) and Nov. 11 at the Mariners Centre (2 p.m.).

The prospects games were created to showcase the top 40 NHL draft eligible players in the Canadian Junior Hockey League. Player selection is a joint initiative of the CJHL and NHL Central Scouting.

The games will be held in conjunction with the 2012 World Junior A Challenge, which takes place Nov. 5 to 11 in Yarmouth. That tournament features six teams, including Canada East, U.S. and Switzerland playing in Group B and Canada West, Czech Republic and Russia in Group A.
