Bearcats handle Hawks with ease in minor midget hockey

TRURO - The Truro MU Rhino Renovations Bearcats cruised to a 5-1 win over the Moncton Hawks in weekend New Brunswick Minor Midget AAA Hockey League play.

The win holds the Bearcats in top spot in the five-team league with a 5-0-0-0 record. Both teams were undefeated going into the contest.

Logan MacDonald, Ian O'Brien, Lucas Gulliver, Tristan Clark and Alex McNutt all scored for Truro. Clark and Gulliver also recorded assists.

Matt MacCallum made 21 saves for the victory.

The Bearcats are back in action Friday when they host the Bedford Blues at Colchester Legion Stadium at 8:30 p.m.
