TRURO – The Cobequid Cougars brought home gold from the recent West Kings Wolverine Classic high school boys volleyball tournament.
The Cougars defeated the Westisle Wolverines 2-0 (25-21, 25-21) in the final, avenging a three set semifinal loss to the Wolverines in the P.E.I. powerhouse’s home event a week earlier.
The Cougars dumped the host West Kings squad 2-0 (25-14, 25-19) in the semifinal after a 25-18, 25-21 sweep of the Sackville in the quarterfinal. Cobequid went 2-1 in the round-robin portion of the tournament.
Chris Cameron posted an 80 per cent pass rating while Adam Sandeson worked at a 19-1 dig to error ratio. Riley Tanner made five stuff blocks.
The Cougars are back in action at the Sackville Kingfishers Tournament Nov. 9 and 10.
