Head coach Scott Annand said he can count on one hand how many times the Cougars didn't make the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Football League playoffs, so it was a disappointing end to the regular season.
"It was a very athletic team," he said of the C.P. Allen Cheetahs who defeated the Cougars 51-13. "But the main thing is that the kids played hard and they didn't give up."
Receiver Kyle Scott went for 78 yards with three catches, one touchdown catch and a 46-yard run. He also had a kickoff return of 75 yards for a touchdown.
Quarterback Gab Bagnell went seven for 17 in passing for 112 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.
The Cougars have one regular season game left - they host Sir John A. Macdonald on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Finishing fifth in the season, the Cougars have a by to host a playoff game with the winner of a sixth and seventh-place game.
