Bearcats have big weekend in major bantam hockey

TRURO - The Truro Bearcats were undefeated in their weekend Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League home-and-home series with the Cole Harbour Storm.

The Bearcats skated to a 5-5 draw Sunday after winning Saturday's tilt 3-1.

Jevan McNutt, Joe Rector, Brody MacPhee, Jared Weatherbie and Noah Archibald did the scoring Sunday. Ben Higgins collected three assists and Noah Archibald had one. Brandon Archibald made 17 saves.

On Saturday, Dougie Barton led the charge with a pair of goals while Brendan Starratt had the other. Jack Lynds was the winning goaltender.

The Bearcats are back in action Saturday when they host the Halifax Hawks at 4:30 p.m. at Colchester legion Stadium.
