Bearcats take pair from Kenn Valley in minor midget

TRURO - The Truro Bearcats took both games of a weekend double header against the Kenn Valley Spartans to start their New Brunswick Midget AAA Hockey League regular season.

The Bearcats blanked their rivals 5-0 Saturday after opening the set Friday with a 4-3 triumph.

Matt MacCallum posted the shutout Saturday while Sander Manley, Connor Lynds, Jaegar Dean, Alex McNutt and Nate Leger scored for the home team.

On Friday, it was Matt Mingo, Greg Harris, Logan MacDonald and McNutt providing the scoring.

The Bearcats are on the road this weekend, facing Saint John Saturday and Kenn Valley on Sunday.
