The Truro Bearcats (8-0-0-0) defeated the Metro Shipbuilders (1-10-0-1) 7-3 Saturday night in Truro.
Brandon Pye led the Bearcats with two goals and two assists while Kyle Morrison added two goals and one assist with Mitchell Scott collecting two goals.
Morrison opened the scoring at 7:20 to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. Scott scored at 15:54 to extend the lead to 2-0. Adam Brown (powerplay) scored at 18:35 to get the Shipbuilders on the scoreboard at 2-1 after the first period. Morrison (unassisted, second goal of game) scored at 1:54 to extend the lead to 3-1. Philip Fife (game winner) scored at 9:49 to increase the lead to 4-1. Pye scored at 10:58 to widen the lead to 5-1 after the second period. Scott (second goal of game) scored at 5:45 to make the score 6-1. Anthont Cardinal (shorthanded) scored at 14:58 to narrow the lead to 6-2. Pye (powerplay, second goal of game) scored at 17:37 to increase the lead to 7-2. Ryan Davis rounded out the scoring at 18:49.
Truro went 1 for 1 on the powerplay while Metro went 1 for 1.
Jacob Fancy stopped 24 of 27 shots for the win while Anderson Snair (30:58) stopped 10 of 15 shots in the loss before being replaced by Jeff Arkin. Arkin (29:02) stopped 20 of 22 shots the rest of the game.
