#81 Colby Lanceleve
Stewiacke, NS
5'8, 160 lbs.
18, Forward
Bearcat-of-the-week honours go to second year forward Colby Lanceleve.
His first junior hat trick came at the expense of the Campbellton Tigers, who were defeated 8-0 last Saturday in Truro's home opener at Colchester Legion Stadium. Lanceleve, Jordan Cox and Jeff Hanes constitute an energy line with potential to score. In Saturday's game the line lived in the offensive zone.
Lanceleve got his start in the South Colchester minor hockey program but moved to the Truro association for the opportunity to play AAA. Anywhere he played, Lanceleve utilized speed and grit to make lasting impressions.
Following two seasons with the bantam AAA Bearcats, he moved on to a two-year stint with the Pictou County major midgets. With increased confidence, he made his second midget season a productive one, netting 30 points in 35 games.
The 2010 Bearcats territorial pick had a solid junior A rookie season last year. In 40 appearances, he picked up nine goals and seven assists. It was his energy and tenacity that proved most noticeable last year. This season he'll be given more opportunity to showcase his offensive attributes. Whatever the role, he has the versatility to perform it.
GAME TIME
Please note the start time for Saturday games at the Colchester Legion Stadium are 7:30 p.m. The Pictou County Weeks Crushers will be in Truro and the Bearcats' closest rival will be a great early season measuring stick.
