TRURO - Constant tweaking paid off as the Truro Freightliners picked up their first win of the Nova Scotia Bantam Football League season Saturday at the TAAC Grounds.

The Freightliners (1-3) downed the Cape Breton Panthers 20-8 after trailing 8-6 with less than two minutes remaining.

Tyran Desmond scored a pair of touchdowns for the winners while the Freighliners defence held the Panthers offence at bay.

Truro is back in action Friday when they host a tough Timberlea Titans squad at 8:30 p.m. at the TAAC Grounds.
