TRURO - A pair of major bantam Truro Bearcats will get to represent Nova Scotia at the Atlantic Challenge Cup next month.

Noah Archibald and Ben Higgins will be skating with the province's Under-15 and Under-14 teams respectively at the competition, which is set for Thanksgiving weekend in Moncton.

Archibald, a 14-year-old Harmony resident who skated with the Bearcats last season, helped Nova Scotia to a gold medal at the competition a year ago. It will be the first time at the event for Higgins, a 13-year-old Bible Hill resident who played peewee AAA in Truro last season.

Both players are forwards.

The Bearcats are off to a 1-1 start to the season after splitting their weekend tilts.

Truro nipped the Nova Junior X-Men 2-1 in Port Hawkesbury before falling 2-1 to the Pictou County Crushers.

Archibald had both Truro tallies in the win while Brody MacPhee claimed the goal against Pictou County. Brandon Archibald was in the net in both contests.

Truro is back in action Saturday when they host the Dartmouth Whalers at 4:30 p.m. before the Cape Breton Cougars come to Truro Sunday at 11 a.m.
