TRURO - A one-day volunteer fair that connects local people with resources and volunteer opportunities within Colchester County will be held on Sept. 22.
Billed as ‘Growing Volunteers,' the event aims to connect volunteers with local organizations, showcase services and programs, and bring like-minded people together for sharing and learning.
"The fair will be an excellent way to connect and learn about volunteer opportunities and programs in Colchester County," said Andrew Keddy, Growing Volunteer committee member, in a news release.
The fair will take place at the Douglas Street Recreation Centre from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Throughout the event, localorganizations will demonstrate their programs such as belly dancing and Tai Chi.
Attendees will also be able to attend workshops which will feature volunteer based topics such as ‘Resume Building through Volunteering' and ‘How to Volunteer with Impact.'
