TRURO - Nick Trecapelli will be joining his Truro Bearcats teammate Jordan Mock at the University of Guelph this season.

Trecapelli, a 21-year-old Guelph native who patrolled the Bearcats blueline in 2011-12, recently announced his commitment to the Gryphons.

Mock, a 21-year-old Dartmouth native, announced his commitment earlier this summer.

Trecapelli set a Bearcats record for scoring by a defenceman in a single season with 17 goals, topping Rodi Short's 15 in 2007-08. Trecapelli added 22 assists for 39 points in 47 regular season contests. His points total was second in team scoring behind Mock.

Trecapelli is the fifth Bearcats graduate from last year's squad to make the jump to university hockey.
