FREDERICTON, N.B. - The East Hants Expos claimed the silver medal Sunday at the Canadian Under-18 men's fastpitch championship with an 8-1 setback to the Alberta-based Irma Tigers in the final.

A seven-run first inning by Irma killed the Expos, who plated their run in the third inning when Cody Anthony singled home North River's Luc Lavers.

Anthony, who was tagged with the loss, accounted for two of East Hants' four hits, with the others coming from Lavers and Connor Hilton.

The Expos got to the final with a 4-3 victory over Napanee, Ont., earlier Sunday.

Lavers and Stewiacke's Colby Lanceleve both chipped in a hit in the win while Hilton, Trayvon MacLeod and Jake Hopewll each had two. Anthony claimed the win with three strikeouts and allowing just six hits over six innings.
