K of C soccer penalty kick contest Aug. 18

TRURO - The Knights of Columbus third annual soccer challenge penalty kick contest will be held in Truro on Aug. 18.

The event will get underway at 11 a.m. at the Tim Hortons field on Marshland Drive.

The contest is free and is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 14 in the Truro and Colchester County area.

Contestants will take 15 kicks from the penalty line at a goal divided into five scoring zones worth 5, 10 or 20 points.

All participants will receive a participation certificate and free pop and hotdogs. The winners in each age group will receive trophies and will represent Truro in further competitions leading to the provincial championship.
