TRURO - The Truro Bearcats were handed an 11-1 setback by the Halifax Canadians Tuesday in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League.
The result drops the last-place Hubtown squad to 5-16, 11.5 games off the pace of the Kentville Wildcats (17-5). Third-place Halifax improves to 12-9.
Brandon Malally was tagged with the loss after getting relieved by Dan Bates in the sixth inning when Halifax touched Truro for six runs. Mike Tobin pounded out three singles while Tony Stewart and Jeff Chisholm each had a pair of hits.
Former Bearcat Craig Field collected the win while Pat Gilbert had three hits.
