BIBLE HILL – A pair of Colchester County connections reeled in cheques as the Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts met to do battle Thursday at Truro Raceway as part of Atlantic Grand Circuit Week.
Waterside Skypper and driver Hilliard Graves came home third in the final A Division event – worth $7,020 – of the 13-dash card while The Rev and Shubenacadie’s Danny Romo were second in the first heat.
The three-year-old pacing colts take to the half-mile oval Saturday with two A Divisions racing for $9,380 each, while a pair of B Divisions will duke it out for $2,500 each. Post time for the 12-dash card, which also includes the headline Exhibition Cup, is 7 p.m.
Untouchable One and driver Kenny Arsenault captured Thursday’s first race in 1:59 for Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax. Its My Turn and driver Jason Hughes rounded out the top three.
Accelerated Pace teamed up with Mike Stevenson to win the third event in 2:00.4 for Boyd MacDonald Produce of Crapaud and Daniel Ross of Belfast, P.E.I. Scamp Finesse and Clare MacDonald crossed the line second.
Woodmere Comical, with Shane Bernard in the bike, won the second A Division event in 2:01.1 for Robert MacNeil of Sydney Mines, Joseph MacNeil of Ingonish and Bernard MacNeil of Miscouche, PE. Paraprosdokian, with Marc Campbell, and Libertys Art and Jason Hughes were second and third respectively.
