Maxwell scores to help Suburban to premier women's victory

TRURO - Shanice Maxwell scored to help Suburban FC to an 8-0 romp over Dartmouth United recently in the premier women's division of the Nova Scotia Soccer League.

The goal gives Maxwell, a Truro resident, five in 11 games this season, good for a tie for third on the league scoring list. Her teammate Danielle MacDonald, who scored three in the victory, leads the league with eight in 11 matches.

Suburban is third in the division with a 4-4-3 (W-L-T) record, just one point behind second-place Valley United (4-3-4). Halifax Dunbrack (8-2-0) leads with 24 points.

Michelle Yates (2), Kara Slawter and Laura Keys also scored for Suburban. Sami-Jo Bell posted the shutout.
