Dewar moves up leaderboard at junior

TRURO - Brock Dewar knocked six strokes off his game Tuesday in the second round of the Nova Scotia junior golf championship at Abercrombie Country Club to move into a tie for 11th.

Dewar, playing out of Truro Golf Club, leads all Colchester County entries at 16-over 158 after carding 5-over 76 Tuesday.

Clubmate Keith Legge shot 79 to finish the day just one stroke behind Dewar while Truro's Evan Starratt is eight strokes back after shooting 83.

Brookfield's Cody Locke carded 89 to sit at 172 after 36 holes. Truro's Matthew Fultz (175) shot 88 while Andrew Murphy (175), also of Truro, fired 90.

Debert's Devin Atkinson (183) shot 89 and Riverrun's Craig McCallum is three strokes back after firing 94.

Bell Bay's Brett McKinnon carded 1-over 72 while Ryan Nowe of Osprey Ridge shot 73 to move into a tie with Brightwood's Matt Gallupe - who shot 75 - at the top of the leaderboard. Grandview's Andrew Reid is five strokes back in fourth.

Play continues today with the final round slated for Thursday.
