EAST MOUNTAIN - Paragon's Leslie Houde came from behind Saturday to snatch the Nova Scotia senior women's golf championship from Hartlen Point's Shelley Hiltz at the Mountain Golf and Country Club.
Houde fired a final round 79 on the par-70 layout to win. She finished the 54-hole event at 237, nipping HIltz, who shot 84 Saturday, by two strokes.
Houde, Hiltz and Ashburn's Debi Karrel will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian championship at the Belvedere Golf Club in Charlottetown Aug. 21-23.
Candace Tattrie of Ocean Links, and Valley's Laurie Blackmore were Colchester County's top finishers at 259. Tattrie shot 87 Saturday while Blackmore carded 88.
Turo's Theresa Zink finished 10 strokes back after shooting a final-round 89 while Joyce Halverson fired 95 (282).
Annie Woodworth, of Brookfield, carded 283, while Truro's Marian Brine and Kathy Langille finished at 285.
