DARTMOUTH - The Truro Bearcats had just one hit and lost 11-0 to the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry on Thursday in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League.

Mike Tobin stroked a leadoff single in the first inning for the Bearcats, and was Truro's lone base runner in the game that was called in the seventh inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Darren Doucette blasted a three-run homer and a solo shot and drove in five runs for the Dry, while Justin Stephens also launched three-run and solo homers.

Justin Davies was the winning pitcher. Losing pitcher Jason Blois was replaced by Josh Fushtey in the second inning.

The Dry scored three times in the first and put the contest out of reach with a six-run second.

The Bearcats (1-8) visit Halifax on Tuesday at the Mainland Commons field. Truro's next home game is Saturday, June 30 when Kentville visits for a doubleheader.
