TRURO - Mike Stevens won Saturday's Ron MacGillivray Chev/Buick/GMC 100 as the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour visited Riverside International Speedway in James River.
Stevens, a Riverview, N.B., resident, caught leader and local favourite Donald Chisholm in lapped traffic late in the 100-lap race and was able to get by for the win. Chisholm, who took the pole and led the most laps, suffered a cut a tire as he and Stevens touched while battling on the front straight and ended up 20th.
Kent Vincent (Crapaud, P.E.I.) and Cassius Clark (Farmington, Me.) rounded out the top three.
The race was the third of 12 this season.
Shubenacadie's Frankie Fraser crossed the line 19th in his R&R Kinsman/Scott Fraser Racing Ford Fusion after winning a 10-lap heat race earlier in the night. Fraser is 13th in the championship points standings with 524 and leads the rookie standings.
Vincent leads with 569 points while Darren MacKinnon of Charlottetown and Pictou's Rollie MacDonald are just five off the pace.
