Malally named ACAA weekly award for efforts with hoops Mounties

TRURO - The accolades keep rolling in for Brandon Malally.

The Truro native was named the ACAA male athlete of the week recently just days after claiming the Mount Allison Mounties version of the honour.

The six-foot-four, 235-pound forward drained 19 points and collected seven rebounds Sunday to lead his basketball Mounties to a 79-43 victory over the NSAC Rams. He also notched 34 points in a 78-64 exhibition setback to Machias.

Malally was earlier named Mount Allison's athlete of the month for November and is averaging 18 points per game in the ACAA.

A third-year psychology major, Malally is a former two-time MVP of the Cobequid Cougars and high school all-star before claiming the Mounties rookie of the year title in 2009-10.
